The Birth of our All-purpose Massage Oil

THE all-purpose massage oil

For massage, moisture and much, much more…

The best massage oil ever!

A long time ago, far, far away I took my products to a gift show. I was just starting out and wanted to get the products into the world and make a splash. While our splashing at that event was more of a meet & greet with other vendors, I realized that inspiration comes in many forms and new products come to fruition.

The word barter is popular among indie makers. I love trying other companies’ products and sharing mine. One of the trades that changed my life was a body oil from a fellow B&B company. Once I tried it I was immediately transported. I don’t even remember her company name, otherwise I would thank her for the inspiration.

This oil became my reason for bathing. I was moved to develop my own oil that could be used as a bath oil, body oil, hair tamer, shaving oil and (of course) massage oil. With a little experimentation, I came up with our Essential Treatment Oil blend. This elixir contains coconut, almond, avocado, sesame, castor oils with Vitamin E. We blend it with any of our kick-ass fragrances. Try using it after the shower when you are slightly damp and you’ll  exude your favorite KleanSpa scent the entire day. We highly recommend layering all of our other products, too.

Thanks to bartering and inspiration, our ETO has become a best-seller and must have!

We encourage you to try it and see for yourself. Take this massage oil to your next appointment and see what we’re talking about.

365 Days of Products: DAY TWO-Avalon Organics

So here we are. Day two.

A few months ago, I was at Target. I was milling the facial products aisle and noticed the Avalon Organics Vitamin C Moisture Plus Lotion with SPF 15.

It was a little pricey, $16.00. Since I don’t often invest in facial skin products too often, I was taken aback. I know, I should take better care of my skin!. I guess if I were at Macy’s or another department store, it would have seemed inexpensive. But I was at Target and, in comparison, it seemed expensive. But I digress.

I opened up the cute orange 4oz bottle. The smell is wonderful! It has a slight coco butter scent mixed with the essence of orange. Nice combo! (It actually reminded me of our KLEAN Bath & Body Exotic Butter in Sweet Orange. Although ours is thicker…and more expensive. So what am I talking about.

I like the fact that it is a bit thicker than usual facial lotions. I am in SoCal and it’s a desert here. So I need hydration. I also like that it contains an SPF. It’s like a 2-in-1 product. It goes on smoothly and leaves my skin beautiful and supple.

I wanted to learn more about Avalon Organics. They have a Consciousness in Cosmetics vision. The five tenants of this vision are: 1. Purity & Safety 2. Sustainability 3. Products that work 4. Sensuality 5. Personal Choice

They do not use harsh surfectants or parabens. All part of their conscious choice.

I would definitely recommend this product to anyone. And I look forward to trying more of their products!

365 Days of Products: DAY ONE: Bella Lucce

I am starting this blog because I am obsessed with all things fragrance-oriented. Food, body products, odd smells like tar, gasoline etc…! Yes, I know, I’m strange! My goal is to feature a fragrance (or product) everyday for a year!

This morning, I began my day with a nice, hot shower. When I got to the office I realized that I needed some lotion for my hands. I had a jar of Bella Lucce’s Rainforest Restoration Acai Antioxidant Body Creme on my desk.

First of all. I can’t tell you how much I love Bella Lucce’s products. And Lela Barker, owner of Bella Lucce, is a doll! If you ever have a chance to meet her, you will never forget her. She is a blast to hang out with!

This creme is packed with all kinds of softening oils like Macadamia Nut Oil and Passion Fruit Oil. As it goes on, you can feel the softening properties immediately. It’s definitely hydrating and leaves a tiny residue of butter. So if you are planning to do things that require your hands to be drier, you may want to wait a bit until it soaks in!

The scent is a bit harder to figure out. It’s seems like it’s a blend of red grapes, wine and blackberry. I could be completely wrong, but that’s my first pass at it! What do you think?

Make a Sugar Scrub!

KLEAN Quickie!
Make your own sugar scrub!

In this current economically challenged time, we felt it necessary to help you weather the storm. Some people aren’t able to keep personal care products on the top of the shopping list, so here’s a basic recipe for making your own sugar scrub at home:

* 1 cup of table sugar or coarse brown sugar.
* 1/3 cup olive oil, safflower oil, sunflower oil, grapeseed, sesame or vegetable glycerin…enough to your liking.
* your favorite essential oil or possibly vanilla extract
* optional: poppy seeds or sesame seeds

Pour all ingredients into a bowl and mix. When everything is incorporated, you are done!

Keep in a sealed container. Avoid getting water in the scrub container. You don’t want it growing any little buggers!

Have fun and watch the shower floor, it may become slippery!

Don't Let Winter Dry-Out Your Skin!!

Don’t Let The Cold Weather Dry Out Your Skin!
Eight ways to maintain your skin during cold weather months…

During the winter I always feel like I can’t get my skin enough moisture. I
did a little research and found a few tips that could help you too!

* Take fewer & shorter showers or baths.
* Keep water luke warm, not hot.
* Exfoliate. Exfoliate. Exfoliate. Then your moisturizer will penetrate
your skin much more efficiently!
* After you exit the shower, pat dry and moisturize your skin immediately.
* Don’t use soap with sulfates, they will dry out your skin.
* Don’t exist with the furnace on high 24/7. Lower the temp and put on a
sweater. The heat from the heater will dry out your skin. (plus it will
save on your power bill)
* Use a humidifier. It will keep moisture in the air.
* If you are dehydrated, drink water.
